Everyday Duas in Urdu: Arabic, Roman Transliteration and Urdu Meaning

If you have been looking for dua in Urdu — the supplications you say every day, written in Urdu with their meaning in Urdu — this page is that collection.

Most dua collections online give you Arabic and English. If you think, pray and ask in Urdu, that is a translation away from your own heart language. This page is the everyday duas with Arabic, Roman transliteration, and the meaning in Urdu — so you can read the words, say them correctly, and understand them without translating twice.

یہ صفحہ روزمرہ کی دعاؤں کا مجموعہ ہے — عربی متن، رومن اردو تلفظ، اور اردو ترجمہ کے ساتھ۔ قرآنی دعاؤں کا اردو ترجمہ کنز الایمان سے لیا گیا ہے۔

Every dua on this page is sourced. Quranic duas carry their Surah and ayah number, and the Urdu meaning is Kanz-ul-Iman, the translation of Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (رحمة الله عليه) — taken directly from the same verified text our Quran reader serves, not retyped. Duas from hadith name their collection. Nothing here is an unattributed supplication.

How to use this page

Read the Arabic if you can. If you cannot yet, the transliteration is there so you are not kept from the words — but treat it as a bridge, not a destination, and learn the Arabic script when you are able. The Urdu meaning is there so that you know what you are asking for; a dua understood is a dua felt.

It is the adab of dua to begin and end with Durood Sharif upon the Prophet ﷺ, and to ask with certainty that Allah ﷻ hears. Raise your hands, face the qiblah if you can, and ask in your own words too — Urdu, Punjabi, whatever your tongue reaches for. Allah ﷻ understands every language, and a dua made in broken words from a sincere heart is not lesser than a memorised one.

Duas from the Quran قرآنی دعائیں

These are supplications Allah ﷻ Himself placed in the Quran. Several of them sit inside a longer ayah — the ayah begins by telling us who said the dua, and then gives the words. Where that happens we print the whole ayah and point out where the supplication itself begins, so that the translation is never cut or altered and you still know exactly which words to say.

Duas for everyday moments روزمرہ کے مواقع کی دعائیں

These come from the hadith collections. The Urdu meanings in this section are our own plain rendering of the Arabic, not a quotation from a published translation — we say so rather than let a rendering look like a cited text.

The morning and evening azkar

This page is deliberately about duas for situations — waking, leaving home, asking for knowledge, asking for your parents. The fuller set of morning and evening azkar — Ayat al-Kursi, the three Quls, Sayyid al-Istighfar and the rest, with their sources — is already collected in our guide to daily duas and morning/evening azkar. We have not repeated them here.

A word on which translation we use

For Urdu, this site uses Kanz-ul-Iman and no other. That is a considered position, not a default: it is the translation of Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (رحمة الله عليه), and it is the one our Quran reader serves throughout. When you read an Urdu meaning on this page, it is the same text, pulled from the same dataset — so what you read here and what you read in the app will not quietly differ.

If a word in the Urdu reads as older or heavier than everyday speech, that is Kanz-ul-Iman's register and we have left it exactly as it is. Smoothing a translation to sound more modern is editing scripture's rendering, and that is not ours to do.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make dua in Urdu instead of Arabic?

Yes. Outside of salah, you may ask Allah ﷻ in any language you wish. The duas of the Quran and Sunnah are the most complete and most blessed words to use, which is why they are gathered here — but your own words, in Urdu or any tongue, are heard. Within salah, the recitation and the prescribed adhkar are in Arabic.

What if I cannot pronounce the Arabic correctly yet?

Say it as well as you are able and keep learning. Allah ﷻ is not waiting to reject you over a letter. Use the transliteration as a temporary help, and learn the Arabic script — our beginner's guide to tajweed starts from the beginning.

Is there a fixed number of times to say these?

For the duas on this page, no fixed count is part of the narration unless the hadith states one, and we have not invented counts. Say them when the moment comes — on waking, on leaving, in difficulty — and say them often.

Why do some Urdu meanings read differently from other websites?

Because many sites use a different Urdu translation. This site uses Kanz-ul-Iman consistently. If you compare a line here with a line elsewhere and they differ, you are most likely looking at two different translators, not an error.

Conclusion

Dua is not a last resort after every other means has failed; it is itself a means, and the Prophet ﷺ called it the very essence of worship. Keep a few of these on your tongue until they come without effort — the one for waking, the one for leaving the house, the one for your parents. A day held together by remembrance is a different day.

اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیں دعا کی توفیق عطا فرمائے اور ہماری دعائیں قبول فرمائے۔ آمین۔
