About Islamic Prayer Times

Muslims pray five times a day at specific times determined by the position of the sun. The five obligatory prayers (Salah) are Fajr (dawn), Dhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset), and Isha (night).

Prayer times vary by location and date. This tool calculates accurate prayer times using astronomical algorithms based on your geographic coordinates. The default calculation method is the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi — widely used in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.

The Asr prayer time differs between the Hanafi and Shafi'i schools of thought. In the Hanafi method, Asr begins when the shadow of an object is twice its length plus the noon shadow, resulting in a later time compared to the Shafi'i calculation.
